Pickle & Thokku
Description
Thokku is a side dish that's a staple in South Indian homes, especially in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. It's a chutney-like consistency that's made with various ingredients and can be spicy, tangy, sour, and sweet. Thokku goes great with steamed rice, dosa, chapati, puri, or curd rice.
If you do not have much time on hand to do any elaborate cooking, just mix this thokku with hot steamed rice, top it with a tsp of sesame seed oil/ghee and enjoy it with chips or papads or appalam. It tastes divine. It is also a perfect lunch box recipe.
How we prepare?
Corriander thokku are prepared by freshly plucked corriander leaves along with selected spices and made with wood presssed gingelly oil which acts as a natural preservative. No other preservatives or artificial colours added. It is good to store for about two and half months without refrigeration.
Note
Store this in a air-tight container or glass jar. Do not use hands or wet spoons and don’t leave the lid open for a longer time as it will spoil the thokku.
